Frequently Asked Dental Questions
It’s likely become clear that dental services do not solely revolve around basic cleanings and exams. Over the years, dentistry has included many other forms of dentistry that you may not otherwise be as familiar with. However, we also understand that patients have questions about our dental office in general. That’s why we’ve included a detailed page focusing on the most common questions our dental office receives. If you still have questions, do not hesitate to give our dental office a call!
How can you improve my smile’s appearance?
In order to solve many smile imperfections, we need a variety of treatments. One of the most comprehensive solutions we offer is porcelain veneers, which uses natural-looking dental porcelain to hide teeth. Of course, those with other minor imperfections, such as gaps or crooked teeth can benefit from clear aligner technology or Six Month Smiles, two forms of short-term orthodontics.
How often should I be visiting the dentist?
We recommend that all patients visit the dentist at least once every six months for an exam and cleaning. These routine appointments allow us to catch problems before they develop as well as keep the mouth free of harmful tartar, which must be professionally removed by a dentist.
Can you repair my tooth the same day?
Thanks to CEREC technology, our dental office is able to capture digital impressions of your damaged tooth, design a dental crown, and fabricate it all in one appointment. That means no need to wait for a permanent crown, no temporary crowns, and no impression material to bite into.
Do you treat families?
Yes! Our dental office is more than happy to cater to young patients. As a general rule of thumb, it’s important to bring your child in for their first appointment either by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth erupting. While the visit will be brief, it will give us a chance to go over important oral care habits at home as well as other treatments we believe will benefit and protect their oral health, including dental sealants, fluoride treatments, mouthguards and frenectomies.
How can I replace missing teeth?
While dental bridges are one of the most common methods of replacing teeth, our dental office is happy to support single dental implants, implant-retained bridges, and even implant-retained dentures! If you want your restoration placed the same day as your surgery, the All-On-4 treatment may be right for you. Since we place implants entirely in the dental office, you don’t need to visit multiple doctors just to have one treatment completed.
My gums hurt. Is there treatment available?
Gum disease affects millions of Americans every day, but that doesn’t mean treatment isn’t available to reduce the symptoms and stop future infection. Scaling and root planing with the help of our dental laser is sure to make your treatment as comfortable and successful as possible. We also offer antibiotic therapy to help accelerate healing in between visits.
What if I don’t have dental insurance?
Even if you don’t have dental insurance, you can still get the necessary treatments you need to maintain long-term oral health. For example, third-party financing programs like Care Credit help you pay for treatments in more manageable chunks. Additionally, our dental office’s affordable dental savings plan is designed to cover the basics, such as cleanings, exams, and x-rays. You can also expect savings on treatments that wouldn’t otherwise be covered by insurance!
